    Default Silver rises, Gold declines

    Silver today advanced by Rs 70 to Rs 28,355 per kg on sustained demand from ornament makers, while Gold eased by mere Rs 10 to Rs 16,795 per ten gm owing to lack of fresh demand, traders at the Bombay Bullion Association (BBA) said.

    The white metal has soared by Rs 970 in the last four days.

    Silver.999 grade opened with a gain of Rs 95 per kg. At the end of the day, it stood at Rs 28,355 per kg, up by Rs 70 against its overnight rate.

    Standard gold and Pure gold resumed up by Rs 75 and Rs 80 per ten gm, respectively. However, Standard gold and Pure gold failed to keep up the gaining momentum and ended the day at Rs 16,795 and Rs 16,880 per ten gm, down by Rs 10 and Rs five, respectively, traders added.

    In London and Asian markets, both the precious metals wee up as Gold was quoted high at USD 1131.00/1131.02 per troy ounce and Silver at USD 18.09/18.10 per troy ounce from their previous close, traders said.
