Default First Glimpse of Mumbai Metro Rail and some Information

    Follow us on Social Media

So here we finally have it. This is how it looks. After so much struggle and delay finally we have something that is ready without much problems. Here are some of the first pictures of Mumbai Metro Rail.

Mumbai Metro One is also gearing to become Asia’s first Green Metro right from the construction stage. With a strong focus on environment,
In order to make the project more interactive, a Public Information Centre has been set up at Saki Naka, Andheri East to address public queries and seek their feedback on the project. Operational 5 days a week from Monday to Friday, it is open from 10.00am to 2.00pm

    Fare Structure:

The fares of Mumbai Metro would be very economical and quite comparable with the other dominant modes of public transport i.e. BEST buses etc. The fare structure is

    Rs. 6 upto 3 Kms.
    Rs. 8 between 3 8 Kms.
    Rs. 10 beyond 8 Kms.
    # Fares indicated are for 2003-2004 level and shall be revised @ 11% every fourth year (rounded off to the nearest rupee). Fares shall be fixed by Government of Maharashtra, through a notification.

It is planned to run the service for 18.5 hours everyday (5:30 AM till midnight) –with the station dwell time of 30 seconds. This will however be reviewed and the final schedule will be prepared before the system starts operation.

Metro trains running along the Versova-Andheri-Ghatkopar route will help reduce significantly the existing noise and air pollution. The trains will help reduce traffic on the roads thus reducing vehicular pollution. Use of latest technology in construction will ensure proper dust control and minimum noise pollution at the time of construction.
